Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem is one of the most-loved large choral works in the repertoire, but who was the man behind it? This master of both soaring melody and luscious harmony taught a generation of composers at the turning point between the Romantic and Modern periods.

As we mark 100 years since Fauré’s death, this programme will explore some of Fauré’s best-known works, including the RequiemCantique de Jean Racine, and Pavane, as well as music by some of those who influenced, and who were influenced by, this unforgettable composer.

Doors open at 2:00pm for a 2:30pm performance.
