Join an Ensemble

You are invited to join the choir for an opportunity to be part of a great Queensland choir! Experience performing fine choral music and being part of a friendly, family-oriented organisation!

Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir Inc. (BICC) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation that provides its members, across all age groups, with the opportunity to rehearse and perform a varied repertoire of choral music to a high standard. At the same time, members will have the opportunity to meet like-minded people and to make life-long friends.

New members are always welcome to join the choir to sing with any of our ensembles. At this time, we would be particularly interested to welcome adult male singers to the Senior Choir, and any children or teenagers to join the Youth or Junior choirs.

If you are interested in joining one of the Choir’s ensembles, please take the time to check out the individual choir pages, peruse the information below, and then complete the Membership Enquiry Form below.

Choir Ensembles

BICC has five ensembles catering for all age groups. Click on a name to find out more.

Rehearsals

Each ensemble has one weekly rehearsal, the details of which are provided relevant ensemble’s page. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled, from time to time, in the lead-up to particular performances. All members are expected to attend rehearsals on a regular basis; to assist at all concerts, performances and competitions; and to attend at least 80% of rehearsals for each concert, performance or competition including the three rehearsals immediately preceding each event.

Performances

Each ensemble has a standard concert and eisteddfod program for the year to which may be added additional performance events such as Christmas carols, appearances at community events, joint concerts with visiting choirs/ensembles etc. The Senior Choir also produces a theatre restaurant which runs for six nights in late August / early September.

Auditions

There is no audition process for any of our ensembles; however the conductor of the Senior Choir may request a short vocal assessment to help determine your voice part.
